I'm Maxx!

Maxx Fidalgo – writer, reader, traveler, and
creator on the south coast of Massachusetts.

Portuguese. Queer. Lover of the written word. I’m a writer currently working in the nonprofit sector as a nonprofit farm's executive assistant. But in my spare time? You’ll find me rambling all over to appease the wanderlust. Don’t worry, I’ll share it all here. The travel, the local news, the hole-in-the-wall spotlights – even my constant forays into fiction.

This blog was created to turn a creative but critical eye onto the places we so often travel through, but perhaps don't give a second thought. The cracked sidewalk says a lot about a city's infrastructure. Painted road murals tell tales of a town's culture. Even signs declaring a path part of a nature preserve are little love-letters to the world around us. Most of all, our surroundings and environment are closely intertwined with our community, and our communities are a large part of who we all are.

Have a bit of news you think is worth reporting on? Have a location you think should be showcased? Drop a line!

And hey - thanks for coming out.
